STAT 875 Students,

Project #1 has been graded and e-mailed back to the person who sent it to me. Please examine the comments that I made in RED in your project. If you turned in a Word file, I use Word’s tracking tool so make sure you turn on “all markup” to see these comments (let me know if you are unsure what this means). If you have any questions about how to do a particular item in the project, please feel free to ask during class, post a message to the listserv, or stop by my office to ask. If you have a question on why I took off a particular number of points for a part of your project, please ask me individually after class or stop by my office.

I have posted an answer key to the project on the “Graded Materials” web page of the course website. This answer key will not be passed out in class so the only way you can obtain it is from the course website. Please look over all parts of it and compare my answers to your answers – even if you got a problem correct. I have also included the LyX document that created the answer key so that you can see how code/output can be included inside of it.

There were a total of 46 points possible. Here’s a summary of the grades:

>=90%: 10 students
>=80% and <90%: 11
<80%: 0

Mean = 42.8 out of 46 points, median = 42.3, standard deviation = 3.6, high score = 47.5 (3 students)

We will discuss the project during our next class.

Chris
