>Thoughts to consider:
>For an agent to make a living from your work you have to produce a
>lot, really churn it out. Regularly.
>Getting to know your client personally enables you to better
>understand the client's needs.
>It is faster and less likely to create misunderstandings if you deal
>directly with the client.
>It can get lonely working by yourself in a studio. You tend to lose
>touch, miss trends.
>You can avoid looking for work if you take a staff position permanently.
>
>You can see looking for work as part of the discovery process. You
>are meeting new people, some of whom will become friends, all of
>whom will educate you in some way. You will better learn how
>business works simply by walking into the client's environment.
>Ideally, you will become more versatile, more socially graceful,
>more professional. More people will know you. Eventually you will be
>a better mentor.
>
>Joan
Joan that is a great way to put that proposition. I am not one who
likes the idea of looking for clients, but that is really inspiring I
think.
