by Barbara Hanawalt
The coroners records she uses are mostly from the 14th century so it should
help a great deal with your persona's environment. This is one of the more
vivid academic books I've ever read about the Middle Ages. I originally bought
it for a class but have a few times over the years for fun. I'm also fond of her
book Growing up in Medieval London.
