Obviously some would say it is NOT a period piece, and for the sake of
Arts and Sciences, it wouldn't be, IF it were being judged as period.
I am not the period police, so I would look at it and say "nice table"
and maybe ask about it's construction or origin. Personally, I would
have tried to use a period material if available or I could afford
that period material.
So to make sure Im clear in what you say, its not period because of
materials and construction method correct?
If that's so what is the difference between it and a period looking
feast made with non period materials (ingredients) and undocumented
construction methods (recipes)?
Indeed both add something to an SCA atmosphere but shouldn't ever be
