I found out that he needs to us a .5mm felt tip pen for the assignment. It looks like he will have to start over with the ink, first. Too bad. He did the pastel first, and it is very nice. I guess one of the reasons for the class it to learn how to combine the ink with pastel.

He did the pastel first and now has trouble inking it because his felt-tip pen keeps clogging. He sprayed it with hair spray to fix it, and it still clogs. I suggested that he do the ink first. Have any of you used ink with pastel? (I have never used pastels). Are there some simple rules that he needs to follow? His instructor offered no advice on drawing techniques.
