Hi Erica,
I recently upgraded my old MacBook Pro (about 4 years old) to a new MacBook Pro - not by choice, the old one was behaving erratically - and I’m loving the new machine so far. My Adobe CC apps all open swiftly, and as long as you stay on top of software updates for them, there shouldn’t be any glitches.
I’m not crazy about the touch bar over the keyboard on the new machine, but it’s not optional; and be aware there are ONLY new USB-C ports on the new laptops - 4 of them, but only them, and a headphone jack, so factor in a handful of conversion cables to your total price tag (I have THREE: a single Apple USB-C to old USB cable, a 3rd party USB-C to VGA, and a 3rd party hub that has a few old USB ports, an HDMI, and a micro SD card slot).
I connect my MacBook to a Wacom Cintiq - there were always some oddities about the way my old laptop connected to the Cintiq, but the new machine works perfectly with it, as well as my portable Wacom Intuous tablet. I’m afraid I don’t have any recommendations on external monitors.
Enjoy the new machine once you’ve got it all set up!

(I use it on a very nice old Apple monitor, which, sadly, I don’t think will work with a newer machine). Could anyone suggest a good MacBook Pro configuration that will run well with Creative Cloud (I mostly use Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver) and a compatible monitor with reasonable color accuracy? I’d love to hear what your experiences have been with recent hardware upgrades.
