We are pleased to have Tammy Baldwin as US Senator for Wisconsin.
Thank you, Anne for drawing our attention to Lisa D Cook's work.
No outrageous attack should go unmet. Each bad deed should be met by good trouble. The "clever senators" have driven me to action.
This term and into the future, my principles of macro classes will be learning of Prof. Cook's work on how race and gender inequality limits economic growth. I have been looking for better ways to incorporate matters of diversity and inclusion into the economic growth topic of the course and Cook's work will help me achieve that goal.
I've found this roundtable discussion featuring Cook at the NABE conference, which should be accessible for intro students with some guidance, available as an transcript here:
“Can addressing inequality unleash economic growth?” (with Nela Richardson and Jim Tankersley) Business Economics 56, 5966, (2021). https://europepmc.org/article/med/33814551
From now on let it be said the "clever senators" of Tennessee spread the word on the professional work of Prof. Cook to the benefit of a young, emerging generation. Good for them! Spread the word, let knowledge wash away ignorance.

if you can’t run then walk,
if you can’t walk then crawl,
but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward."
