I really love my NT setup, and can fly with zero crashes. I really think
the platform issue is a diminishing one, especially since companies with
foresight and savvy such as Adobe Systems have made cross platform files a
reality. The tow sides will be blending so that by the millennium they will
be nigh indistinguishable.
I know a few people who work (or have worked) at Apple, and a number of
people THERE use NT systems! Memory management is not a problem, and the
system is stable enough that I don't have to quake in fear when an upgrade
hits the scene--I remember when all the Mac users on my team were going to
System 8.0, and they all independently had major paralyzing system crashes,
which set them back for days, and costt hem the big bucks to repair. My
system just kept on ticking, Old Reliable!
Have you ever tried to call Apple for help? It is an exercise in futility
and frustration. Even the developers I work with say that they want to go
over to NT because Apple is so uncooperative and insouciant about their
