Call for Entries:
Schering-Plough Botanical Illustration Exhibit, June 28 through September 6,
1999, Madison, NJ.After September 6th the show will travel to the executive
gallery of the Schering-Plough manufacturing facility in Union, New Jersey. We
are pleased to announce a call for entries open to all Guild members,
nationally and internationally.
This exhibition will be juried and coordinated by Chiara Becchi, Pat Kay
and Linda Trella. Artists are encouraged to send five or more slides by
February 15 to Chiara Becchi; P.O. Box 290; Brookside, NJ 07926; (973)
543-0695. Slides must be 35-mm, in cardboard or plastic mount (no glass).
Label each slide on the front with artistís name, address, telephone number,
title of piece, framed dimensions, medium and arrow indicating the top. Slides
of accepted work will be held until opening of show for publicity purposes.
Please include self-addressed, stamped envelope for the return of slides.
Schering-Plough is a research-based company engaged in the discovery,
development, manufacturing and marketing of pharmaceutical and health care
products. It sponsors an ongoing series of art presentations at their
executive offices in Madison, New Jersey. There will be an artistsí reception
on a date to be determined. Schering-Plough will provide a color brochure for
the show. The space is insured and Schering-Plough takes no commission.
Still life, Floral, and Landscape oil paintings by Pat Kay at Artist House
Gallery, 57 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106, (215) 923 8440, from
January 6 to 31st. Artistsí reception from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday,
January 10, 1999. This is easy to get to from either public transportation or
if you are driving. Call the gallery for directions and hours.
Next Meeting and Workshop:
Our next meeting will be held on Saturday, January 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in
Room 302 of the Watson Building of the New York Botanical Garden. After the
meeting, Elissa Gore will conduct an oil pastel workshop until 3 p.m. You are
invited to bring lunch and stay for this event. Elissa will bring samples of
her work and oil pastels. You should bring some cold-press (rough) watercolor
paper, paints, brushes, palette, water container, and a landscape photo for
reference. Please join us for a very exciting meeting!
