We have had great success with the Epson Stylus 3000. It prints on a
variety of papers with excellent quality and at a fairly high speed. It
will also print up to A2 size. With the Postscript driver, even line
drawings from Illustrator print at laser printer quality. Photo quality
paper is expensive, though.
