Hi guys, I have been out of town and want to weigh in. Annie, I also have used WN, both varieties. Not sure about the ammonia, but I have found that with ALL masking fluids it is crucial that they be fresh (e.g. not too old/dried out!!), and, I shake them quite well to mix the components, but then tap tap tap the bottle to remove bubbles, and then still I test, and test again on the paper. Of course 300# handles mask much better than 90 or 140, and some papers do far better than others (wish I could tell you which does what). I have brushes (actually old WN #7's) that I keep specifically for masking. Like some of you I also use a piece of hand soap to keep them from getting chunked-up and to keep them useful. I have had a few (#s 2 & 3) for many many years. A decent brush is a good thing, as you said Linda: spines on a cactus are way easier with a decent point. But also I love a brush that can hold some fluid as well. It's interesting to hear everyone's experiences with this. Thanks again to the List!
