When it comes to kids my advice has always been if they want to find a name encourage it, if they have a device they like let them use it (this will of course change over time, how many times will depend on the age and personality of the child).  When you feel they have reached the necessary maturity level if they want to register it then ok (for some this is before they are 18 but of course I have met some who are 25 who are not there yet :) so it ends up being a case by case personal decision).  Congrats on finding a name you like.
