Monday, March 10th, 2014: Youth & Equine Meet and Greet (1 hr), 11:00 am - 12:00 pm: A Parent/Legal Guardian WILL need to be in attendance when youth meet the horses, unless part of the Page School program. There will be a 10-15 minute safety and question session, and then youth will be introduced to a few of the equines on site. Wednesday, March 12th, 2014: Equine 101 for Youth (1 hr), 11:00 am - 12:00 pm: We will go over the different equipment (tack and grooming items) used for equines, as well as how to properly use these items. I will cover safety tips and general "How-To's" with regards to helping around the equestrian area and being around equines. IMPORTANT: This class is For 17 & under Youth - Parent/Guardian MUST be in attendance, unless you attend WITH the Page School [Still pending Page School coordination - but will take place regardless]. Thursday, March 13th, 2014: Equine 201 for Youth (1 hr), 11:00 am - 12:00 pm: IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This class is for ages 5 - 17 - Parent/Guardian MUST be in attendance. Boots/Closed-Toe shoes required. Equestrian Approved RIDING helmet required. This will be a hands-on course. Serious interest only, please.
We will pick up where we left off on Wednesday and actually brush & tack up an equine. We'll learn some additional safety tips when it comes to being around the equestrian area, as well as the proper way to handle an equine. Additional activity may include authorizations, pending skill level and marshal availability.
