Unto the artisans of Calontir – and those who do not yet know they are artisans – do Their Royal Majesties send greetings It seems like the rush of Queen’s Prize is just abating and it is time to settle for a long winter’s rest. But do not be complacent! Spring will be upon us and with it Kingdom Arts & Sciences competition. Now is the time to start thinking about and planning what you would like to enter. What do you enjoy doing and sharing with others? Is there something you have always wanted to make for yourself but haven’t yet? Have you seen someone else do something that you thought was interesting or fun? Try it for yourself! Even if you have never made anything before, or entered an A&S competition, this is your chance to try. Not sure where or how to start? Ask your local Minister of Arts and Sciences, or anyone whose work you admire. This is the SCA, people love to talk about what they are making and what you might like to make, and most are willing to help you if asked. The deadline to enter the competition is March 1, 2014, both for single entries and the Kingdom Championship.
