Best, Amy -- Assistant Professor: Tenure-track position in Native American Literature with expertise in Creative Writing (Poetry) The Department of English at Northern Michigan University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Native American Literature with expertise in Creative Writing (Poetry). Responsibilities include a 3/3 teaching load of introductory and advanced courses in Native American Literatures, as well as introductory and advanced poetry workshops. Expectations are primarily focused on excellence in teaching and professional/scholarly/creative work which contributes to personal and departmental effectiveness. Service to the department and the university is expected. Additional responsibilities include the direction of MA and MFA theses. Minimum Qualifications: MFA or PhD . Commitment to teaching excellence and research specialization in Native American literatures in English, and significant publications of poetry in nationally recognized venues. Expectations in publications in nationally recognized venues, including one full-length book; successful instructional experience at the college level; and the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate workshops in the field of expertise, as well as lower-level courses.
