Dear Enrico,

For further searches, especially on the internet, I would like to suggest you to search for Trichius dombrowskii and Tibiotrichius dombrowskii, not T. dombrowsky.

Best regards,

Auke

Thank you Max. As far as I know T. dombrowsky was never synomyzed.

Oggetto: Scarab types of Nonfried in BMNH

Dear All

Of Nonfried types in BMNH, all I can find at present are

x1 Syntype of Pachnoda kustai Nonfried, 1892 (Cetoniinae)
x1 Syntype of Mimela pyropus Nonfried, 1890 (now in Callistethus) (Rutelinae)

These seem to have come to us via Bourgoin and Ohaus, maybe by exchange. Other Nonfried types indicated in our database actually referred to types of synonyms by other authors, and these have now been corrected in the database. It is a common problem for collections managers, when specimens are large and cover the labels, to have databased types of junior synonyms as if they were types of the senior name under which they were standing.

best wishes

Max

Thank you Ales. As far as I know the Type/Type series of T dombrowsky Nonfried, 1906 is not in Berlin or Prague. I will check Paris and the other.  Do you know if anybody have a list of the (Cetoniidae) lost types?

Dear Enrico,

majority of Nonfried's types are now deposited in MNHN Paris (coll. Oberthur), many cetoniines are housed in Museum fur Naturkunde Berlin (coll. Moser), few types are in other museums (Prague, Muncheberg, Dresden and others), some types are considered to be lost ...

all the best,
                         ales
