Yes, I thought the earth mag article really hit the mark, and includes illustrations by some of our members. 

The Smithsonian article might scare some of us as its about a machine doing what one might have hired an illustrator to do—but I feel we have to embrace new technologies and make machines work for us. For example after the model is created by the 3D printer, it is then painted by an illustrator to look like the original specimen. Giving life to lifeless models whether plaster or plastic, the machines can’t do everything, ha ha.
