The Moores School of Music at the University of Houston seeks an adjunct instructor for the 2016-2017 academic year, beginning 22 August 2016 and renewable on an annual basis or by semester. 

Teaching load is three courses per semester, comprising courses primarily for non-majors: Listening to World Music (1 section) and Popular Music of the Americas (2 sections). Opportunities for music-major courses during the spring 2017 semester are pending. Courses are supported with teaching assistants. Per course salary is slightly over $2,500, encouraging applications from those with connections to the Houston area. Applicant’s status should be ABD or PhD in ethnomusicology or historical musicology.
