The Graduate Association of Musicologists und Theorists (GAMuT) at the University of North Texas is pleased to announce our 4th Annual GAMuT Graduate Student Conference, to be held Saturday 24 September 2016 on our campus in Denton, Texas. Our keynote speaker will be Sanna Pederson from the University of Oklahoma.
We invite graduate students currently enrolled in a master's or
doctoral program to submit paper proposals on any topic in the fields
of musicology, music theory, and ethnomusicology. Interdisciplinary
approaches are particularly encouraged. Papers will be 20 minutes in
length, followed by a question and answer period. All papers accepted
for presentation will be eligible for the conference paper award.
Abstracts of no more than 350 words with up to 4 pages of examples
should be submitted as a single PDF file to

my.unt.edu. Submissions will be reviewed anonymously,
so please remove identifying information from the proposal itself.
Submissions should be accompanied by an email that includes the title
of your paper, your name, institutional affiliation, email address,
and telephone number.
The University of North Texas is located in Denton, a city of 120,000
in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. We are approximately 25 miles
north of DFW International Airport, with direct flights from over 200
