Research Institute for the History of Science and Technology, Deutsches Museum, Munich

This international workshop brings together professionals from the museum and academic sectors in order to discuss the role of early pedal harps as multidimensional artefacts of material, technical and cultural heritage. This program features paper sessions, a concert and a tour of the harp collection at the Münchner Stadtmuseum. The conference is organized by Panagiotis Poulopoulos as part of his research project "A Creative Triangle of Mechanics, Acoustics and Aesthetics: The Early Pedal Harp (1780-1830) as a Symbol of Innovative Transformation", funded by the Volkswagen Foundation.

The online registration to the conference is now open at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfSh558vO9ctQ2cJQMBxJ9qdZl7zM7OVJbHArfWjuZnRWuxfA/viewform

There is no registration fee, but registration in advance is required, due to the limited number of seats available in the seminar room. Participants need to book their own travel and accommodation. For those who hold an ICOM card, the entrance to the Münchner Stadtmuseum for the guided tour on Friday 30 November is free.
