The New York Society Library offers E-memberships for those interested in access to our collection of 20+ electronic resources. Most resources are accessible off-site, and several would be of interest to scholars doing research on American Literature. Some of the resources that we offer include JSTOR, Project Muse, archives to The TLS, New York Review of Books, and the London Review of Books, various Oxford University Press databases, and many more.

We also offer our own database called City Readers, a fully searchable database of circulation records for our early membership from 1789 to 1805. City Readers is available to all, and is a rich resource for those studying reading history.

The New York Society Library was founded in 1754 and membership is by subscription. We offer other membership options that include book borrowing privileges (we have a large circulating collection), study rooms, and more. The Library has a collection of rare books and special collections, as well.
