Wow, y'all. Thanks for all the suggestions yesterday. I'm going to have a good time going tonight researching them.

Will all of them need a stylus or do you work with both your finger and a stylus?

I like Adonit Jot Touch; but going the Adonit route is a personal choice, I think, since it feels differently than most of the other stylus brands in the market.

I'm happy with Procreate.

Diana, do you have a favorite pressure sensitive stylus that works with iPadAir?

One of these should suit you.

Often there is a free version to try out the basics, then buy the full package.

Hi Patricia!

I love ArtRage the most: the palette layout feels the most like traditional
painting. I wrote a little about it here:
http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/symbiartic/2014/01/30/wacom-stylus-ipad/

Sketch Club is also pretty good, lots of variety and new tools being added
all the time.
Autodesk's Sketchbook mobile is popular and has a lot of tools. I found it
less responsive than the others.
Wacom also has their Bamboo Paper app which is alright but I haven't played
with it a lot.
