Thanks, Britt. Although the moth in question very much resembles those in the genus Nola, it's apparently a member of the genus Idia, in the subfamily Hermeniinae, or Litter Moths.
Below are a few photos from various sources of the American Idia (Idia americalis). The first is from Cindy Mead, http://www.pbase.com/lilwings/image/4093740. The coloring is a bit off, but the key is the most distal dark spot close to the edge of the forewing, having a noticeable white line on its distal edge. This species is quite variable, as see the other photos on this website, as here, http://www.pbase.com/lilwings/image/3168401.
