Glendon,

Great interview with a very inspiring artist. Finally got around to reading; working on my squarespace web site.
Simon’s work on the Cintiq is amazing, does indeed looks like gouache.

Thank you for sharing!!

thanks for pointing us! I too assumed the work was gouache - and called Frank over to see it as such! - ….so, it’s digital -??

I thought gouache as well, Linda.  Thanks much, Glendon. Very insightful interview.  Strange, too, that I saw Lars Jonsson in Simon's work.  Jonsson paints birds with great intimacy.

You are most welcome Linda!  I'm still developing my interview questions, and I encourage people to answer at length. We have Twitter for soundbites, so blogs really should go in-depth.

Thank You, Glendon. This is an insightful interview. I wondered what his medium was. I looked at the details of the dinosaur paintings in the exhibit and thought, gouache? Now I know. I was about to throw away my watercolors and raise the bar on gouache painting.
His achievement is significant and admirable, and I'm very glad you sent this link.

Cheers,
Linda

I inquired with the Swedish Natural History Museum concerning a catalog or book of Simon Stalenhag's striking paleo art so generously shared yesterday by Linda Feltner.  Here's the reply I received should anyone else have an interest.

Hello Bruce,

My name is Tove Frambäck and I am the project manager and producer for the new exhibition Fossils and Evolution at Swedish Natural History Museum.

I’m glad that you like Simons Stålenhags artwork – we do to J. The images have been produced in cooperation with scientists of the museum.

No, not yet, but there are plans of making a book or a catalog.  At the moment you can also watch them at http://www.simonstalenhag.se/paleo.html

Look out for the book in out shop or website.

Kind regards,

Tove
