Dear Colleagues,

Not quite about scarabs, but can any of our northern hemisphere colleagues
tell me how the female acorn weevil lays her eggs - deep into the acorn
(does she have an extensible ovipositor), push them in with her mouthparts -
in other words what is the function of the extremely long rostrum??

Many thanks and best wishes,

Clarke
