Hi Everyone, I've been using Jade 711 for many years. http://apps.bnt.com/ecom/catalog/product_specific.cfm?ClientID=15&ProductID=18840 It's a white PVA adhesive with properties similar to Elmer's glue, but acid free and archival quality. (used in bookbinding and art conservation) You can find it at Talas (http://talasonline.com). Out of the jar it is very viscous but can be thinned as needed by adding water. It dries clear and has a good shear strength. Over time it does not yellow or become brittle. Most household glues are polyvinyl acetate in a formulation, including Martha's Glue. The relative amounts in the formulation seem to determine the thickness of the glue. Here is the MSDS for Martha's Glue, given to me by the manufacturer, which states that it is a formulation of polyvinyl acetate, glycerin, and water. I haven't been able to find it at my local Michael's for almost 6 months and it just went on sale on their website for half off the regular price ($1.50 a bottle!!). I just bought their entire online stock of fifteen bottles for my museum (sorry guys). I'd suggest going out to your local Michael's store and stocking up if you are totally in love with this glue. We order ours via "Scrapbook.com" and unless the manufacturer has stopped producing it, it should still be available there.
