The Sixth New Beethoven Research Conference will take place on Wednesday, November 2 and on Thursday morning, November 3, 2016 at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel, Port McNeill Room, prior to the joint meeting of the American Musicological Society and the Society for Music Theory.

 

Sessions of this international conference will include papers on Beethoven's creative process, on sources, aesthetics, and analysis, as well as a lecture-recital.  The first session (Wednesday morning) will be a joint session with the Haydn Society of North America on Beethoven-Haydn intersections.

 

The conference is sponsored by the University of Alabama; the Beethoven Society of North America; Wake Forest University; the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn, Germany; and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and organized by Joanna Biermann, William Meredith, David Levy, Julia Ronge, and William Kinderman.
