Subject: Another interesting book

 

 

Dear Colleagues,

 

another beautiful book found in the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (see archive),

is the German translation from the Swedish, of Fredrik Sjöberg´s book: “The

Flytrap” (Die Fliegenfalle). As is indicated in the amazing book cover it speaks:

“Over the joy of immersion in strange passions, the soul of the collector, flies and

 life with Nature”. It describes many stories about fly specialists, like the initial career

of René Malaise in Sweden and the development of his famous trap, what famous writers

have written about flies, collecting in the tropics, but above all the joy and exhilaration of

insect collecting, as I have never read before.
