Dear Scarab Workers,
We (KNP insect pollinator team) are compiling a short note on sampling beetles at high in African Savanna. Consequently, I’m looking for published records of this having been covered in the entomological literature and have found a few papers covering topics like “pole-bucket”, “pole-mounted”, “pole-pruners” and “vertical sampling pole”. Evidently, there is some literature in the Canadian / USA forest entomology circles where sampling at high using a long pole is mentioned, but I have not been able to trace this yet.
Anyway, if you have or are aware of any papers written on this topic please share them with the list and [log in to unmask] . I am suggesting the group as I imagine that this is a topic which would interest many other field biologists.
Many thanks in advance for all contributions, your own experiences with sampling from foot beetles / insects at height, and PDF’s where it is referred to! All contributors will be acknowledged in the paper!
Best regards
James
