The School of Music at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley invites
applications for an Open Rank faculty position in Musicology to beginning
in August 2017. Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate surveys
and seminars as well as graduate advising of Masters level students. A
typical teaching load is 9 credits per semester. The ideal candidate will
be an effective and versatile teacher, an established scholar, and a
dedicated colleague willing to assist in building a music program of
excellence at the undergraduate and graduate level. While the research
specialization is open, we encourage researchers of Latin American and
Iberian music or music and disabilities to apply. Ability to led ensembles
is a plus. The successful candidate will serve as Assistant Professor,
Associate Professor or Professor in The School of Music and will be
considered for the Mary Alice Shivers Endowed Professorship to begin in
Fall 2017.
