Mathurin et al:

I'll reiterate what I said before. We (the interested people of the kingdom) need to advertise Lilies better. Both in Kingdom and out. Not that it is happening, we all know that. But the specifics. What amazing class are you teaching or taking? What cool thing is your guild sponsoring? What amazing tournament is happening?
For me: The glass bead tent. I can access tools and torches that I don't have the time or money to invest in myself, but these amazing people loan their equipment and expertise for a week of classes on everything from making a basic bead to adding dots to encased florals and hollow beads! I'll even offer to teach some basic bead classes if my schedule allows for Lilies this year. Where else can you access this much stuff for such a low price? A single class on beginning beads from a commercial venture can cost as much as the Lilies site fee AND the class fees combined!

Talk it up with friends, family, vaguely interested strangers...everyone. Why should I spend my vacation at Lilies? What are the totally awesome things happening?

For those who have the means: Can you pay for someone on your food plan who might not otherwise attend? Loan a tent or cot? Offer garb?

I know of one guy in B3R who isn't sure if he'll go, because he doesn't have 9 days of garb to wear. I told him to go for 4 and use the laundromat. Builds in a town trip. I'm also going to try to set up some basic T-tunic classes before the event (*not that I can teach such things, But I'd donate the fabric for one tunic for someone who needs it. Even cotton you wouldn't dream of using now would be great for someone with no garb at all)

What are you going to do?

As as been mentioned before, the Lillies Committee does not need help with identifying extraneous expenses.

The problem is not that we spend too much; it is that not enough people are coming. That has been the case for some time, but this last year, in a misguided attempt to draw people away from 50th Year, or at least convince them to come to Lillies also, the site fee was dramatically reduced. This simply exasperated an already tentative situation.

What the Committee needs is ideas for getting more people to come. You cannot convince more people to come by pinching pennies, reducing amenities and activities. If you are coming to the meeting to recommend eliminating A&S tents and having everyone bring their own toilet paper, your input will not be helpful.

What I saw was archive ones from 2009 to 2013 but couldn't find any recent ones.

While that is a legally accepted report, it is extremely low on details.

It does not provide any kind of breakdown on item costs.  Nothing on per porta john cost per day, nothing on tent cost per tent size, nothing on number of war programs printed vs sign in forms.

Nothing on dispersal of rented assets, such as how many class tents vs activity tents vs admin tents vs other use....

I don't see studies on where people camp vs where the activities are vs where the portajohns are located. Are  we renting too many by not controlling the camping locations? Or do we have the correct number, just not located correctly?

This is bare bones financial statement. What we need is a time utility money breakdown showing what is used at what time at what cost. If we are able to cut cost by extending utility, we can lose redundancy. But we can't do that if we don't have access to historical use data.

Which doomsdays don't provide.

I Googled "Calontir Lilies Domesday Reports" and one of the top results led me here:

Click through to "Domesday Reports" and it shows by year.

Ooh!  Where do I find such things?
