Subject: [SCIART] Fwd: Writer looking for scientific illustrators of color
Can anyone provide any information about historic scientific illustrators of color? A graduate student of neuroscience is writing a video about science illustrators for a YouTube channel. She hopes to introduce a new audience to the contributions
of relatively unknown science illustrators and she's having difficulty finding examples of diversity. See the email below.
If you have suggestions please respond to her directly.

Subject: Writer looking for scientific illustrators of color
I hope this email finds you well. My name is Alie Caldwell - I'm a graduate student of neuroscience at UC San Diego and a script writer for educational videos about science. I have been given the opportunity to write a video for a popular science YouTube
channel about scientific illustrators, with the goal of focusing on artists who had unusual artistic interests or advanced their fields in unique ways. I have several illustrators in mind, but as I was beginning my research, I found it difficult to find any
scientific illustrators of color, despite rich histories of science and medicine outside of Western tradition. I reached out to a friend for help, who connected me with your former student Jon Wagner, who suggested that I contact you.
Do you know of any science illustrators of color that I could consider for this assignment? I would appreciate any assistance you can provide. I'm looking forward to helping a new audience learn about the contributions of relatively unknown science illustrators,
and I'd love to expand the diversity of my list if possible.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration - I appreciate it!
