That is a great idea - a colleague who's a new collection manager just asked me
for some contacts for alcohol collections - your idea will be helpful is showing
what other collections do. I have a few pictures from my collection and can
take more.

Hi Christy,
Thank you for your great offer! I truly believe that it would provide all a significant insight of good practices, ideas, hints, tips and tricks on various aspects of collection management. One idea of hosting such a collection would be to create a Scratchpads.eu site where users can also contribute, comment and distribute relevant material. The good thing is that in that way we could also maintain different groupings for subjects by tagging the same pictures on different clusters of information.
Anyway, I think it’s a great idea and we should go for it!

Subject: Reference photos of other insect collections
Hi all,
I find it extremely helpful to visit other insect collections to learn how things are done in other institutions. I take a lot of pictures, of jars, door handles, labels, cabinets, etc and refer back to them in my own practices. I'm wondering if a reference collection of images from other insect collections would be helpful to others?
And if so, what would be the best way to host the images? As files on the ECN facebook page, a google doc, possibly on the iDigBio site, or something else?
I'd love to hear what other people think of this idea.
