-day symposium seeks to reassess
​the
 transformative paradigms
​ offered in​
 Nietzsche’s and Kittler’s critiques of Wagner for the twenty-first
century. It aims to situate them
​ both​
 in the digital culture of today,
​
a
sking
​ ​
how
​ ​
these shifts in understanding impact our understanding of Wagner’s music in
2017
​, and the extent to which
 a hygienic, digitised context
​might ​
erase or enhance Wagner’s historicized cultural identity.
