Thank you very much, Wendy.
I rather like the idea of what iCloud does with that kind of access to the folders. It's rather like a hard drive.
From what I understand from CrashPlan, it's more like Time Machine. Both methods have their uses.
Thank you for responding, it's great to know how folks actually use the product. Very valuable.
Cheers,
Linda

Dear Linda,
Britt touched upon this and I might have missed other responses—apologies if this is redundant.
I use the ICloud drive that comes with the Mac OS (5 Gb for free/50 Gb for .99 each month/up to 2Tb for 9.99 each month with family sharing) for short term storage onthings I want to access quickly across several devices while storing another version just in case. The iCloud folder shows up like a regularfolder on all my devices so it it easy to put something from my iMac into the folder and haveit show up in the iCloud folder on my iPad for instance. You have to put whatever folder you need into the iCloud folder, so it is not an automatic back up like Time Machineor the other remote back ups. That might do well for you for a presentation situation where you just want access to a spare.
I have an external drive for on site backup and then have a remote backup. I migrated over from the general CrashPlan to the business option, but I am afraid it was out of laziness and not deep knowledge of all the options.
I am happy to see everyone’s solutions to these back up issues.
Good luck!
Take care,Wendy
