A friendly reminder to all that we're still seeking storytellers. The deadline to reply is Wednesday, 6/27.Thanks!-Derek and MikeCalling all potential tellers of tales! Are you interested in telling an interesting field story in ECN's symposium:Tales from the Field: Vol. 3? Stories can be expressed through a PowerPoint presentation (the more pictures, the better, or maybe even a short video), song and dance routine, or just through the power of your voice alone. ECN 2018 will occur on Saturday, 11/10 and Sunday, 11/11 in Vancouver, Canada: http://www.ecnweb.org/default.asp?Action=Show_ Meeting We're aiming to entertain the audience with at least an hour's worth of speakers and you can have 10 min. max this year. We currently have one storyteller, so if you want to participate and have a chance at winning the Golden Net for best tale, then write back as soon as you can because it's first come, first serve! It takes guts to get up there and tell a good tale and we know more of you have some great ones to tell, so please do! We've had a lot of great ones already and we'd love to hear more. Please also keep in mind that ECN's audience is a mixed group from a wide variety of backgrounds and countries. If you would like to see/hear the stories from Vol. 1 (2016) and Vol. 2 (2017), then iDigBio has you covered:If you want to tell your tale, then here are the 7 things that we need by Wednesday, 6/27 - you are welcome to respond to this message with your responses below the numbers:1) Full name as you would like it written in the program2) Organization affiliation (if applicable)3) e-mail address you wish to use4) Title (this can't be changed after the program's July 1st deadline)5) Estimated length - this can really be anything as long as it's under 10 min. If we need to adjust this for the sake of easier rounding, we will let you know.6) Whether or not you will use a PowerPoint - the more photos (or brief video) the better, but this format is not necessary. Props are also encouraged.7) Any special notes/requests - e.g., the speaking orderThank you kindly!Derek A. Woller, Ph.D.
