Do you draw the path by hand or draw the curve using the ZigZag tool? I’d like to use the ZigZag tool but haven’t figured out how to vary the wave lengths.

What I would do is make vertical guides spaced as required to establish wave duration. Then I’d create a serpentine path and snap the points to the vertical guides.
