This two-day workshop will help you capture the essence of live animals on paper, observing and recording their shape and motion; we’ll focus more on overall form and much less on details (that’s for the studio later!). The
workshop will begin on Friday, Sept. 21, with a bit of classroom instruction, slow-motion DVD’s and a few warm-up exercises, then on to sketch the cows, horses, and other assorted farm animals. On Saturday, we’ll travel to the university farm for more sketching
time. Inclement weather may change our schedule, but we’ll have indoor shelter if needed.
Even if you are not wild about drawing farm animals, they make great subjects and the basic principles are the same for any animal you want to draw, from birds to cows to people.
