Collegiate Assistant Professor of Music Theory and Coordinator of Music
Theory. Full-time, (9-month), non-tenure track. Initial appointment is for
3-years, renewable. Salary commensurate with training and experience. Start
Date: August 10, 2019. DUTIES: Teach courses (3/3 Teaching Load) in
undergraduate music theory and aural skills. Lead in the development and
implementation of a unified music theory/aural skills curriculum and the
promotion of teaching excellence in the music theory area. Additional
duties are dependent upon the qualifications and interests of the applicant
and the needs of the School of Performing Arts. Must maintain an active
program of appropriate research and professional service. Serve on
committees and perform other appropriate university service.

QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctoral degree in music theory and demonstrated
success teaching at the college level are required. Candidates with a
background in the pedagogy of Music Theory are strongly encouraged to
