*Call for Proposals:*
*Annual Meeting of the South-Central Chapter of the American Musicological
*The University of the South (Sewanee, TN)*

*March 8-9, 2019 *
*Deadline for Submissions: *Sunday, January 20, 2019

The South-Central Chapter of the American Musicological Society (AMS-SC) is
pleased to announce its 2019 Annual Meeting, to be hosted by The University
of the South in Sewanee, TN.

We invite proposals for *presentations*, *papers with a performance
component*, *poster presentations*, and *panel discussions *in all areas
of scholarship related to music. We also welcome proposals on current
issues related to musicological labor, such as contingent faculty,
non-academic career paths, and professional development opportunities.

Papers will be limited to twenty minutes, with an additional ten minutes
allotted for questions and discussion. Presentation proposals should
include an abstract of no more than 350 words.

*Submission Instructions:*

Proposals should consist of a single Microsoft Word or PDF that includes no
personally identifying information but only the presentation’s title,
abstract, and format (paper, panel, poster, lecture recital, etc.). Attach
the proposal to an email that gives the presenter's full contact
information, presentation title, any A/V requirements, and a short bio (100
words or less). Panel proposals should include an abstract describing
the scope of the panel in addition to individual abstracts for each of
panel’s papers.

*For a proposal submitted by a student*, please send a separate email
message from an advisor or other faculty member should be sent to
the Program Committee Chair, John McCluskey to verify student
status. Student members of the AMS-SC whose abstracts are selected by the
program committee will be eligible to compete in the Rey M. Longyear
Student Paper Competition.
