*Open Position at the Association for Social Economics: Executive Secretary*

The Association for Social Economics seeks a new Executive Secretary who
will be responsible for most of the day-to-day operations of the
Association. The position requires excellent administrative skills and
(because of financial tasks) residency in the United States.

The responsibilities of this position include:

Maintaining the Association membership list, managing member subscriptions
to the Association’s journals, and responding to member inquiries.

Preparing annual election ballots and communicating election outcomes.
Keeping the content of the ASE website up-to-date.

Tracking deposits and checks, sending checks and wire transfers, and
maintaining records of all association transactions.

Preparing agendas and minutes for annual meetings of the Association
membership and twice-yearly meetings of its Executive Council, and
maintaining a repository of the official documents of the Association.

Coordinating with organizers to manage the finances and logistics of the
ASE World Congress and Summer School, in years in which these are held.

Providing support to the President in decision making.

Serving on committees, including as the Chair of the Membership and
Outreach Committee.

Compensation for the position is currently set at $5,500 per year (or a
similar amount for a reduction in teaching) plus reimbursement for hotel,
registration and travel expenses to attend the annual Allied Social Science
Association conference.
