VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN MUSICOLOGY - Department of Music, Case
Western Reserve University. One-year appointment with possible renewal for
two additional one-year terms, depending on departmental need.

The Department of Music at Case Western Reserve University seeks a
musicologist with specialization in music since 1750. Teaching load of two
courses per semester and a share of departmental advising on the graduate
level. Expertise in ethnomusicology and world music desirable. Duties may
include undergraduate teaching in general education courses as well as
teaching and advising in the Joint Music Program with the Cleveland
Institute of Music (CIM). PhD or ABD status required.

Through the Joint Music Program with CIM, now celebrating its 50th
anniversary, students at CWRU and CIM pursue studies at both institutions,
thus enjoying the benefits of a research university and a leading
conservatory. Music history, music education, and historical performance
are all taught at CWRU, while music theory and applied lessons are taught
at CIM. The two institutions share a campus setting in University Circle,
together with The Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Museum of Art, and several
other cultural organizations. Collaborations also exist with Cleveland’s
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Music Settlement, and area schools.
