I just wanted to urge anybody attending the conference to come to the pre-conference symposium this Sunday, included in your conference registration.
It's called a photography symposium but should be of more wide-ranging interest.
First up, Gary Cranitch will showcase his award-winning Great Barrier Reef and other images of the wild taken over his long career as a Queensland Museum Photographer.
Then world-renowned photographer and digital colour guru, Les Walkling will talk about managing digital colour; basically how to get what you see on your screen to match the printed result or other outputs.
Man Cheung will speak first after lunch about he and his brother Wah's fabulous "Digital Garden" project; lovely images of plants displayed on the incredible, giant interactive screens of "The Cube" at QUT's Garden's Point Campus.
I'd urge you to visit "The Cube" if you have spare time before or during the conference. It's easily accessible via ferry or bus. http://www.thecube.qut.edu.au/
Following this Les will speak on cutting-edge colour management in "Beyond Photoshop Colour Correction", which should be of great interest to anybody working with digital colour.
"This talk is designed to help you work with LUTs and in particular the amazing 3DLUT Creator application."
Les' talks have been sponsored by AIMBI Qld.
Looking forward to seeing you all,
