APPLICATIONS STILL OPEN: The Queens College (CUNY) MA in Musicology, Music
Theory, & Composition

The Queens College (CUNY) MA in Musicology, Music Theory, & Composition
provides an exceptional foundation in graduate study. As the nation’s
premier urban public university, the City University of New York offers a
quality education at an affordable price. The Queens College MA brings
together the resources of a conservatory program and an excellent research
library at the Aaron Copland School of Music, the doctoral facilities of
the CUNY Graduate Center, and the wider musical and academic riches of New
York City. Classes focus on critical thinking, disciplinary literacy, and
recent trends in music scholarship. Students work closely with faculty
members to develop their research skills and written fluency, and the
degree culminates in a second-year thesis or portfolio. The MA program is
being specially adapted to meet the needs of students during the COVID-19
pandemic.
