Chris, what threw me with this new CC line tool is that you wanted to create an outline around the line, you had to select the fill, either null (the background) or a color or texture or whatever. It was staring me in the face, but there are several new tools and tweaks that I’m learning to deal with, so it’s okay. 

What I did was select the line tool, then set the width of the line, the width of the stroke  (a bit further left on the palette), then select what kind of fill (to the left of that). To make a hollow line that I can shape into a stem or pedicel or petiole or whatever, I select ’no fill’. And then the anchor points on the line tool box can be manipulated to shape the line as one pleases. Once I learned how to do this in CS4 and CS5 I never went back to pen and ink work. I just created a line tool, then selected ’stroke’, and it became hollow.
