Review of applications will begin October 1, 2020 and continue until the position is filled.

The Musicology area seeks a colleague to teach courses across undergraduate, graduate, and honors offerings and from the candidate’s area of expertise, as well as to join current faculty in imagining and implementing new approaches to the discipline and emerging fields of study.

The successful candidate will be committed to breaking down the traditional historical-ethnomusicological divide and add positively to an environment that values collegiality, interdisciplinarity, and hands-on music-making. Our new colleague will participate in the recruitment and comprehensive mentorship of graduate students, contribute to rethinking and enacting what Musicology will be in the twenty-first century, establish a national presence as a scholar prior to tenure, and provide support to their disciplines and communities at all levels.
