I’m excited to announce that my first showcase of Antarctic-focused SciArt is part of an online group exhibition that launches this Thursday! I’m featuring a series of underwater field sketches and a multimedia presentation on the process of transforming them into undersea illuminations. It’s also the first exhibition for the Antarctic Artists and Writers Collective (AAWC), and I’m excited as Co-Chair of the Collective. Organizing an online exhibition in the time of a pandemic is definitely on the level with a gallery show and our curator, Ulrike Heine, has been stellar.
Below is the news release for the exhibition which includes a series of eight free virtual events that are to be hosted over the next four months. Shout out to fellow GNSI and AAWC members, Terri Nelson, who I first met at the 2016 conference in Santa Cruz, she mentored me in the ways of applying to the Antarctic Artists and Writers Grant and Michelle Schwengel-Regala, former collaborator, who is also a part of the exhibition.
