The Conservatorium of Music, University of Western Australia, is seeking to
appoint a Collections Coordinator for the Callaway Centre Archives.

About the Role:
The appointee will take a lead role in a significant archive and research
centre that traverses the areas of music, history and anthropology. You
will source external funding to preserve and digitise the collections and
raise its profile and visibility. Your role also involves working
collaboratively with both academic staff, students and visiting scholars,
as well as with library staff, sharing knowledge about contemporary
archival practices and investigating professional development and research
project opportunities.

About the Team:
The Callaway Centre is an archive and research facility within the UWA
Conservatorium of Music. It has a special status within the Conservatorium,
its collections having been initially developed by the Foundation Professor
of Music, Sir Frank Callaway (1953-1984), who was a vital figure in WA and
an international presence. The Conservatorium’s main auditorium is the
Callaway auditorium, and its weekly research seminar series is the Callaway
Centre seminar series. Beyond the Conservatorium, the Callaway Centre is
also part of the Cultural Collections community of UWA, alongside the
Berndt Museum, Cruthers Collection of Women’s Art, UWA library Special
Collections, and the newly-established Digitisation Centre (CRARM)—a
community that involves a range of professionals committed to developing
and sharing knowledge about practices in archiving, preservation,
curatorship, cataloguing, digitisation, and accessibility.
