The 'Reframing the Golden Age' conference (Univ. of Sheffield/American
Songbook Foundation) will take place online from May 12-15, 2021.

The event is open to all, free of charge, with registration now available

Songbook Foundation founder Michael Feinstein will open the conference and
Tony-nominated actress Melissa Errico will lead an industry panel on gender
and the Golden Age, while keynotes from Kara Gardner and Geoffrey Block
will address the role of dance on Broadway and the stage musical's
relationship with Hollywood.

Also involved are Doug Reside (New York Public Library) and Mark Eden
Horowitz (Library of Congress), with ten academic panels hosted by Tim
Carter, Susan Weiss, Stacy Wolf, Jeffrey Magee, Elizabeth Wells and Walter
Frisch amongst others. New scholarship by Shana Redmond, Ellen Peck, Megan
Woller and Julianne Lindberg will also be celebrated in a special book
launch panel.

The conference will be held in honour of the distinguished career of Kim H.
Kowalke, Professor Emeritus at Rochester, N.Y. and President of the Kurt
Weill Foundation.
