Le fait musical religieux. Approches croisées Histoire-Musicologie

This hybrid conference will take place in Saintes (France) and virtually on 20-22 May 2021.

Its principal aim consists in enabling historians and musicologists to envision together the question of European Catholic sacred music, from the Middle Ages to the present day.

If the dialog between the two disciplines has unfortunately remained too often limited to one-off collaborations, interdisciplinary research programmes have recently paved the way to close and fruitful collaboration between musicologists and historians. This colloquium invites a confrontation of objects and methods as part of this promising dynamic. It shall be divided into five complementary sections.
